  • Research Interests: Coastal sediment processes, coastal remote sensing, and shoreline management
My current focus is on estuarine shoreline change and sediment dynamics in the Albemarle-Pamlico Estuarine System. Other research interests include sediment accumulation in coastal wetlands, impacts of climate change and human activities on coastal morphology, shoreline management and coastal policy, coastal remote sensing and wave modeling. I am currently employed at UNC-Wilmington in the Department of Environmental Studies where I teach a graduate-level course in field methods, a senior undergraduate capstone seminar, and coordinate the department's introductory lab course.
