I am broadly interested in the management of migratory marine fishes and sharks, habitat issues, coastal GIS applications, and the social dimensions of fishery management. My dissertation research goal is to understand the movement patterns of spiny dogfish sharks via multiple sources (historical data, acoustic telemetry data, and fishermen knowledge), and to develop mechanisms that better integrate fishermen knowledge of spiny dogfish into the fishery management decision-making process. Also, something interesting about me is I have been studying middle eastern dance for five and a half years, and regularly perform with my troupe at festivals, fundraisers, and nursing homes.
