After a Masters in Forestry and GIS at NC State, I spent 6 years working for the NC Division of Coastal Management as an Environmental Specialist/ GIS programmer. There I was part of a team that developped North Carolina's 20 coastal counties wetland maps. We used sattelite imagery, NWI maps, and streams layer.
In 2001 I transfered to East Carolina where I worked on a watershed assesment project. Funded by an EPA grant, this study is headed by Dr. Mark Brinson, Dr. Richard Rheinhardt and Robert Christian. We carried out a detailed vegetation study, analyzed land use land cover changes as well as the watershed's hydrology.
Now in the CRM, I am interested in anything wetlands as well in using GIS and Remote Sensing for resources conservation and planning. For my dissertation, I am exploring the link between estuarine watersheds' land use land cover change to estuarine habitat and fish recruitment.
