Scientific Diving Course

  • Scientific Diving (COAS 6000 Graduate Students) is listed a a "Complete" style course. This means that the course does not necessarily conform to the semester schedule.
  • Scientific Diving (COAS 4000/4001/4002 Undergraduate Students) will receive a grade.
  • This is a modular training program. Modules generally consist of a classroom, confined water and open water portion. Successful completion of each section of a module and it's written examination is required to receive credit for the module.
  • The majority of the classroom material is available online. Students will be given a time limit to complete a given classroom portion of each module.
  • Scheduled class meetings are Mondays 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Minges pool. Other required meetings will be scheduled on a TBA basis.
  • Open Water training is scheduled for the two weeks immediately following the close of Spring semester exams.
