ECU Parent Support Network

The parent site is managed by a software platform called NING. The site is a social network (SN) with all of the typical tools such as: discussion boards, email, blogs, chat, and a member area. The idea behind this site is the premise that many parents feel disconnected to the university once they send their children off to school. This sites focus is two areas:

1. University Information and Updates: The site is updated frequently with ECU information ranging from ECU dates and community events, to directions from RDU to Greenville.
2. Social Aspect: This site is a place where parents can find fellowship with other parents and hopefully, increase their connection to ECU.

To date, we have 1,200+ parents that have joined the network. The web address for the NING site is: http://ecuparents.ning.com/
