Early Assurance Admissions Process for Entering Class of Fall 2013
Students wishing to be considered for the Early Assurance Program must first be accepted into the Honors College. Admission to the Honors College at East Carolina University is competitive and by invitation. Please see the Honors College Admissions page for information.
The Early Assurance Program review process will occur in January and students identified as finalists will be notified of their status by a targeted notification date of January 31, 2012. Finalists will be required to participate (in person) in finalist interviews during Honors College weekend (February 17-18, 2013) in Greenville, North Carolina. Students offered admission to the Early Assurance Program will be notified by a targeted date of March 2, 2012.
In addition to the four Early Assurance Program participants selected every year, a number of alternates are also identified. Alternates participate in all Early Assurance Program activities during their undergraduate years, and may be offered Early Assurance status if any Early Assurance participants change their career plans or lose their eligibility for any reason. While alternates are not guaranteed admission to the Brody School of Medicine, they generally have become excellent candidates for medical school through their undergraduate Early Assurance experiences and historically have enjoyed a very high acceptance rate when applying to medical schools.
