Early Assurance Program Admissions Process for the Fall 2014 Entering Class
Students wishing to be considered for admission to the Early Assurance Program in Physical Therapy must first be accepted into the Honors College. Admission to the Honors College at East Carolina University is competitive and by invitation only. Students wishing to be considered for admission into the Honors College or any of its programs first need to meet minimum eligibility criteria to receive an invitation to apply:
- Submit a completed application for undergraduate admission to East Carolina University by the priority deadline of December 1.
- Meet the following minimum criteria within both the standardized test and high school achievement categories
- Minimum math/verbal combined SAT score of 1200 or Minimum ACT score of 27
- Minimum un-weighted GPA of 3.5 or minimum weighted GPA of 4.0
The Honors College application is completed entirely online, with the exception of a peer recommendation that must be submitted by mail. The deadline for submitting the completed Honors College application and all associated materials is December 15. The Honors College acknowledges receipt of completed Honors College applications (to include the required peer letter of recommendation) with an e-mail confirmation.
Applications are reviewed throughout December and January with a targeted notification date of January 31.

Aug. 17 - Dec. 1, 2013: Qualified applicants to East Carolina University will be invited to complete the Honors College application online through Pirate Port
Dec. 1, 2013: Deadline for prospective Honors College students to submit a completed East Carolina University application
Dec. 15, 2013: Deadline for prospective students to submit a completed Honors College application through Pirate Port and for the required peer letter of recommendation to be postmarked
Dec. 16, 2013 - Jan. 30, 2014: Honors College, EC Scholars, Business Scholars, and Early Assurance Program application review
Jan. 31, 2014: Targeted notification date for Honors College decisions and finalist status for EC Scholars, Business Scholars, and Early Assurance Program applicants
Feb. 16, 2014: Selection Sunday: EC Scholars, Business Scholars, and Early Assurance Program Finalist Interviews
Feb. 17, 2014: Honors College Preview Day
Feb. 28, 2014: Targeted notification date for all EC Scholars, Business Scholars, and Early Assurance Program award decisions
Mar. 12, 2014: Deadline for accepted Honors College, EC Scholars, Business Scholars, and Early Assurance Program students to submit non-binding intention form to protect space in the incoming class
Apr. 15, 2014: Deadline for accepted EC Scholars, Business Scholars, and Early Assurance Program students to confirm enrollment to East Carolina University
Apr. 22, 2014: Deadline for accepted Honors College students (who have not also been offered a seat in EC Scholars, Business Scholars, or Early Assurance Programs) to confirm enrollment to East Carolina University
Summer 2014: Honors College Summer Orientation (required of incoming Honors students)
Summer 2014: Honors College Kickoff Events (optional to incoming Honors students)
