Support Programs

Pilot Project Program.

  • Provides up to $20,000 to generate preliminary data for pending extramural application
  • Faculty must be affiliated with ECDOI and/or ECHI
  • PI must agree to develop extramural grant proposal through a Grant Advisory Panel (GAP)
  • Matching support from Chair/Dean (additional funds, release time, etc.) required
  • Application
Grant Advisory Panel.
  • Selected by the PI at least 3-6 months prior to proposal deadline; composed of 3-4 faculty with relevant expertise and/or grantsmanship experience
  • Developing, critiquing and finalizing specific aims page is the primary goal of GAP; provides support for additional components of grant as needed
  • Ideal for PI to present preliminary specific aims to joint lab meeting/group for feedback prior to GAP
  • Instructions

Resubmit Program.
  • Provides funds to support experiments needed for resubmission of a competitive extramural grant generating >$100,000 F&A with the  opportunity to resubmit to the same agency.
  • PI must submit preliminary plan for revision developed in concert with GAP based on critiques from the initial review.
  • Matching support from Chair/Dean (additional funds, release time, etc.) required
  • Application

 

NC TraCS & CDTR. The North Carolina Translational & Clinical Sciences Institute and UNC-CH Center for Diabetes Translation Research offer a number of Pilot Project funding opportunities for interdisciplinary clinical and translational studies.  ECU is a participating university in the NC TraCS Institute and CDTR.
