The Taft Diabetes and ECDOI Seminar Series - This series is the marquee event for the ECDOI and features monthly seminars given by renowned researchers in the metabolism field in a relaxed and interactive atmosphere.  All events are held at the ECHI from 3:45-5:00 pm with refreshments provided. View Schedule  

 

Metabolism Joint Laboratory Meeting - Held every Thursday in the Life Science Building (Rm 202) from 8:30-9:30 am featuring a research presentation by a graduate student, post-doc, or PI covering new data, grant ideas, and new journal articles followed by an open discussion. View Schedule


 

Take Off 4-Health

 East Carolina University's Pediatric Healthy Weight Research & Treatment Center and North Carolina 4-H are sponsoring Take Off 4-Health, a 3-week, residential summer camp for overweight adolescents.  The camp, for boys and girls ages 12-18, will be held at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC from July 22-August 10, 2012.  Take Off 4-Health offers traditional outdoor activities with healthy lifestyle programming to facilitate weight loss and healthier living.  To learn more or to download an enrollment packet, visit takeoff4health.org or contact Yancey Crawford, MPH, at 252-744-5061.  You can also learn more at facebook.com/takeoff4health.
