Why did you choose to attend East Carolina University
I knew East Carolina would provide a nurturing environment that would allow me to develop and grow both as a student and as a person. Coming to ECU would also present me with the once in a lifetime opportunity to be a member of the inaugural class of the Honors College.
What has your scholarship enabled you to do?
My scholarship has enabled me the freedom to focus on my education and not worry about financial obligations. This granted freedom has made my transition from high school to college a lot smoother. It has also given me a chance to explore service projects and student clubs.
What unique leadership opportunities have you experienced at the university?
I am currently involved with a service project where I visit and interact with seniors at the Golden Living Assisted Living Center once a week. I am also exploring service trips for spring and summer break.
What are your career plans/aspirations?
My plan is to become either a pediatrician or a physician who specializes in sports medicine. Medicine is a career path that has always interested me.
How have you made a positive impact while you have been at East Carolina University?
I have made a positive impact by being open and engaging with the international students who live in my residence hall. Moreover, the relationship that I have with the resident who I am working with at the Golden Living Assisted Living Center has had a positive impact on both of us.
