Why did you choose to attend East Carolina University?

I chose ECU because it felt like home to me. While visiting many other colleges, I felt like a number but at ECU I felt I genuinely mattered. They bombarded me with letters and phone calls to see how I was and really made me feel special.

What has your scholarship enabled you to do?

My scholarship has allowed me relax about pursuing a college education. Money was playing a huge factor in making my college decision but when I received the scholarship, all worries went out the window. I am now very excited to start my college career and anxious to see where my life goes.

What special undergraduate research opportunities have you experienced at the university?

What unique leadership opportunities have you experienced at the university?

What are your career plans/aspirations?

I aspire to become a Medical Doctor. I have wanted to be a doctor from the time I was a boy, and ECU has given me a very unique and special opportunity to become one. On top of the EC Scholars award, I am an Early Assurance recipient. This guarantees me a spot in the Brody School of Medicine. I am still undecided on what specialty I plan to pursue.
