Message from the Associate Provost

Dear University Community Member,

As the newly established Office for Equity, Diversity and Community Relations at East Carolina University, we are excited about the opportunity to serve students, faculty, staff, and the local and regional community. We value excellence, diversity and inclusion and a comprehensive approach to our work. Our goals for the 2010-2011 academic year are:

1. Facilitate and partner with colleges and administrative departments to develop or enhance diverse student recruitment and retention programs.
2. Develop and support formal and informal diversity and inclusion advisory groups.
3. Offer diversity and awareness programs and professional development seminars.
4. Establish connections with diverse leaders, organization and communities with ECU and it’s human, facility and financial resources.
