For most of the last century, Wright Fountain stood as a campus icon. Now, two years after underground utilities failures forced the old fountain’s removal, the new Trustees Fountain at Wright Circle has risen to take its place. To learn more.

The University's Academic Catalogs

There are two versions of the university's catalogs for you to reference -- a PDF and an HTML version. The PDF versions are exact replicas of printed catalogs and are accessible online at the link below. Curricular revisions and university regulations may have been officially approved after the dates of publication to PDF. The HTML versions are updated catalogs indicating curricular revisions soon after approval by the Faculty Senate or Graduate Administrative Board, and the Chancellor. They are dynamic documents that inform faculty, staff, and students of recent revisions to the catalog that go into effect the following semester. Revisions are indicated in green text. On September 1 of each year, the HTML catalogs for an academic year are "frozen" and archived to establish the guidelines and regulations under which each incoming class will matriculate. The updated online catalogs are considered the university's official catalogs. Active catalogs are located at http://www.ecu.edu/cs-acad/aa/SrchCatalog.cfm.

Degree-seeking students enter East Carolina University under the catalog in effect at the time of official enrollment. Students can choose to graduate under a catalog published after the student is originally enrolled. Undergraduates have a period of five years in which to graduate under a specific catalog year. Graduate students have a period of six years in which to graduate under a specific catalog year. For all matters regarding an earlier academic year, refer to the appropriate archived catalog. Archived catalogs are located at http://www.ecu.edu/cs-acad/aa/SrchCatalog.cfm.

The university's academic catalogs are for informational purposes only, and do not constitute a contractual agreement between a student and East Carolina University. The university reserves the right to make changes in curricula, degree requirements, course offerings, or academic regulations at any time when, in the judgment of the faculty, the chancellor, or the Board of Trustees, such changes are in the best interest of the students and the university.
