Department of Anthropology
Grover and Jessie Rodgers Scholarship in Archaeology Scholarship is valued from $1,000 to $2,250 and is awarded to a full time undergraduate student (junior or senior) or graduate student admitted to the Department of Anthropology and concentrating in Archaeology. Other criteria include a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated commitment to the study of and a career in Archaeology. The scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may be considered in subsequent years. No application form is required.

Dr. Keith D. Holmes, Jr. Scholarship
Value if the scholarship is variable. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior chemistry major who is an U. S. citizen. Other criteria include a minimum 3.0 GPA, extracurricular activities and leadership potential
Joseph N. LeConte Memorial Scholarship
Value of the scholarship is variable. The scholarship is awarded to a full time junior or senior chemistry, pre-medical or pre-dental major who is an U.S. citizen. Other criteria include a minimum 3.0 GPA and need.
Richard and Nancy Moldin Scholarship
Value of the scholarship is variable. The scholarship is awarded to an outstanding chemistry major and/or sophomore intended major. Criteria include a minimum 3.3 GPA (overall and in chemistry) and future potential as a student of chemistry. The scholarship is renewable.
Burroughs Wellcome Fellowship in Organic Chemistry
Two scholarships at $11,000 each are awarded annually to graduate students in the chemistry M.S. program who are doing thesis research in the area of organic chemistry. Selection is made by the chemistry Graduate Committee and organic chemistry faculty.

Robert E. and Margery R. Cramer Scholarship
Scholarship is valued at $500 and is awarded to an undergraduate geography major to be used in a structured academic program abroad. Required application materials include a cover letter, a description of interest in geography, a description of interest in study abroad, and a current university transcript. Applicants must submit four copies of all application materials. Academic excellence and financial need are considered.
Department of Geography Scholarship
Scholarship is valued at $250 and is awarded to a junior or senior geography major with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Required application materials include a current university transcript, a description of interest in the field of geography, a description of involvement in extracurricular activities, and two letters of recommendation, at least one from a professor in geography. Applicants must submit four copies of all application materials.
Planning
Hankins Family Scholarship
Scholarship is valued at $300 and is awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a B. S. degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Other criteria include completion of 85 semester hours of college course work, a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, a minimum 3.0 GPA in Planning, and exhibited dedication to the profession of Urban and Regional Planning. Required application materials include a current university transcript, two letters of recommendation, at least one from a Planning professor, and a description of involvement in extracurricular and community activities. Applicants must submit five copies of all application materials. Application deadline is in February.

Lawrence F. Brewster Graduate Fellowship in History
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduate student in the History Department. Two scholarships are awarded annually.
Admiral Ernest M. Eller Awards in Modern Naval History
One award is granted to a first year graduate student and one award is granted to a second year graduate student who will write a thesis in modern naval history.
Barbara and Matthew Landers Fellowship
Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student with high academic achievement and a commitment to the study of and to a career in naval history.
Paul F. Murray Graduate History Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduate student in the History Department.
Department of Mathematics
The following scholarships are awarded annually by the Mathematics Department to students majoring in Mathematics. No application forms are required as recipients are selected by the department’s Awards Committee from among all declared majors. Mathematics students are encouraged to declare their major as soon as possible in order to be eligible for these awards. Award amounts depend on available funding.
Pignani-Archer Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship is the graduating Mathematics major with the highest grade point average since the last May graduation.
John B Davis Scholarship
The recipient is to have a background and interest in Statistics.
University Book Exchange Scholarship - Mathematics
Recipients are to be full-time undergraduates majoring in Mathematics with academic merit.
Gravely Foundation Scholarship – Mathematics
Recipients are to have academic excellence, financial need, or qualities of good citizenship and dedication to their profession.
Mathematics Education Scholarship
Recipients must be pursuing a B.S. degree in Mathematics Education with a minimum grade point average of 3.00 overall and in Mathematics.

Sarah Patterson Lane Award
Scholarship is valued at $150 and is awarded to an undergraduate physics major. Candidates must have completed the advanced general physics sequence at ECU as well as at least two semesters of freshman/sophomore laboratory sequences at ECU, and be enrolled in a junior/senior level course. A minimum 3.0 GPA is also required. The scholarship is for one semester. No application is required.
Outstanding Senior Award
Scholarship is valued at $75 and is awarded to a senior physics major that has applied for graduation, has a minimum 3.0 GPA and has a record of service to the Physics Department. The scholarship is for one semester. No application is required.
James Fenly Spear, Jr. Memorial Award
Scholarship is valued at $75 and is awarded on the basis of academic merit to a senior physics major that has applied for graduation. The scholarship is for one semester. No application is required.
Tab Scholarship in Physics
Scholarship is valued up to $1,000 per year and is awarded to an incoming freshman accepted for admission to major in physics. Other criteria include a minimum 3.0 overall high school GPA and a minimum 3.25 high school science and mathematics GPA. Application required.
