How do I apply for financial assistance?
To apply for grants, loans, work-study and some scholarships you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal, state and university aid programs. Even if you think you may not be eligible, we encourage you to apply. The FAFSA will become available January 1st. East Carolina University's priority deadline to submit the FAFSA is February 15th.
The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID. We encourage you to apply online, so your information will be processed faster and helps you to avoid errors that could lead to costly delays. You can request a paper FAFSA by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID.
To ensure that East Carolina University received your FAFSA information, please be sure to ECU's Federal School Code on your FAFSA. ECU's Federal School Code is 002923.
You may apply for aid before your receive your admission decision from East Carolina University, however you will not receive your award notification until you have been admitted.
