The College of Education offers over 50 scholarships a year that range from $250 to $6000. There are some scholarships based on financial need and some on merit. Online scholarship applications are accepted between January 1 and March 1. You must be accepted to ECU and have a Pirate ID and password before you can apply.

School of Communication Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate communication major.

CommCrew Freshmen Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to an incoming freshmen admitted to the School of Communication with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA.

David B. Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to undergraduate students with concentrations in  journalism and media production.

Lester C. & Alta M. Rees Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to an out of state student with a concentration in  journalism and media production who was ranked in the top 10% of their high school graduating class. 

Richard Steven Bean Memorial Scholarship in Communication Arts is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full time undergraduate student with a 2.5 GPA majoring in art with a concentration in Communication Arts.

Art Enthusiasts Scholarship is valued at 300 and is awarded to a full time undergraduate with a 2.5 GPA who is currently majoring in art

University Book Exchange Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full time undergraduate  with a 3.0 GPA who is currently majoring in art.

Jenni K. Jewelry Scholarship is awarded to a full time undergraduate student majoring in art with a concentration in Metal Design.

Claire E. Armstrong Graduate Fellowship Scholarship is valued at 600 and is awarded to a full-time graduate with a 3.0 GPA obtaining a Master of Fine Arts.

DeElla Wade Willis Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to full-time undergraduate student with a 3.0 GPA who has either been accepted into or with a concentration in Textile, Fabric, or Weaving Design.

K Eastern Carolina Advertising Scholarship is awarded on a rotation basis between the School of Art and Design, the Department of Marketing, and the School of Communication to a student in an advertising related field.

Gravely Foundation Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior, senior, or graduate art student with a 3.0 GPA who has been accepted for admission.

Tran and Marilyn Gordley Scholarship is valued at 600 and is a recruitment scholarship awarded to an accepted student on the basis of artistic talent, minimum or projected 2.5 GPA, and a demonstrated commitment to art.

Wellington B. Gray Memorial Scholarship in Art Education is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full time undergraduate student accepted into Art Education.

Out of State, Special Talent Tuition Waivers  is valued at 475 per year and is awarded to out of state art students.

Bessie McNeil Scholarship is valued at 1,000.  Recipients must be an undergraduate majoring in a program in CHE.  Applicants will be judged upon scholarship, financial need, citizenship, leadership (both demonstrated and potential) and their dedication to a field within the College of Human Ecology.  Previous recipients may apply.  Selection is made upon recommendation by the CHE Academic Excellence Committee.

University Book Exchange Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in a program in CHE.  Applicants will be judged upon scholarship according to the Alumni Association Honor Scholarships Program (minimum 3.0 GPA).  Previous recipients may apply. Selection is made upon recommendation by the CHE Academic Excellence Committee.

Gravely Foundation Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a undergraduate or graduate student majoring in a program in CHE. Applicants will be judged upon scholarship (minimum 3.0 GPA), financial need, qualities of good citizenship, and dedication to the student's profession.  Previous recipients may apply. Selection is made upon recommendation by the CHE Academic Excellence Committee.

Bloxton-Strawm Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to a undergraduate or graduate student enrolled or admitted to a program in CHE with no less than one year remaining in their academic program.  Criteria is based on academic merit (minimum 3.0 GPA), financial need, leadership, and service within CHE, campus, and community.  Selection is made upon recommendation by the CHE Academic Excellence Committee.

Ronald C. Harrell Engineering Scholarship is valued at 2,000 and is awarded to a full-time NC resident who is a rising sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in good academic standing enrolled in engineering, or engineering technology at East Carolina University.

Barnhill Construction Scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student in the Department of Construction Management based on academic ability, academic major, and community involvement.  First preference will be given to qualified candidates from Eastern North Carolina.

Construction Financial Management Association Scholarship (Triangle Chapter) is valued at 2,000 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior in CMGT with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is committed to the construction profession.

Home Builders Association of Durham/Orange County Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior in CMGT with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is committed to the construction profession.

Home Builders Supply Company/W.G. Blount Scholarship is awarded each spring to a rising senior who is the top student in the Department of Construction based on academic ability, academic major, and other criteria determined by the Committee.

Mark Tipton/Pitt County-Greenville Home Builders Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior in CMGT with a minimum overall 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need.  Preference is given, but not limited to, applicants expressing an interest in residential construction and resident of Pitt County.

Profession Construction Estimators Association-Coastal Plain Chapter 8 is valued at 1,000 and is awarded is to a full-time rising junior or senior in construction with financial need.

Professional Construction Estimators-Triangle Area Chapter 3 is valued at 1,500 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior in construction with a 2.75 overall GPA in major with financial need, evidence of leadership, outstanding character, and a commitment to the profession of construction.

Service Roofing and Sheet Metal Company is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to a full-time rising sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in construction management with a demonstrated commitment to the study of and a career in construction management.

Southern Piping Scholarship is valued at 2,500 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or a second semester senior in the Department of Construction Management based on academic ability, academic major, and community involvement.

T.A. Loving Company Scholarship is valued at 1,500 and is awarded to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled full-time in construction management with a 3.0 overall GPA with a demonstrated commitment to the study of and a career in the profession of construction management.

The Gravely Foundation Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior enrolled in construction management with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need with a dedication to their profession.

Ready Mix Concrete Company Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior enrolled in construction management with a minimum 2.5 overall GPA and demonstrated commitment to the study of and career in Construction Management.

Adams Products/Pine Hall Brick Companies Scholarship is valued at 5,000 and is awarded to a full-time rising junior or senior accepted in the Construction Management Department with a minimum 3.0 GPA with evidence of leadership capabilities and outstanding character. Recipients should demonstrate a commitment to the study of a career in Construction Management.  Children of Oldcastle or Pine Hall Brick will receive special consideration.

East Carolina Alumni Association Scholarship is valued at 2500 and is awarded to   full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, and have demonstrated service to the University community.

Mary Jo Outland Baugh '55 Alumni Scholarship is valued at 2500 and is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, and have demonstrated service to the University community.

East Carolina Teachers College Scholarships is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, have demonstrated service to the University community ,and are descendants of East Carolina Alumni.

The Washington/Metro Alumni Chapter Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to and is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, have demonstrated service to the University community, and is from the Washington D.C. Metro area.

The New York Metro Alumni Chapter Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, have demonstrated service to the University community and is from the New York Metro Area.

The Tidewater Virginia Alumni Chapter Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, have demonstrated service to the University community and is from the Tidewater Virginia area.

Megan Grace Lavinder Memorial Scholarship is valued at 1,000 and is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or higher, and have demonstrated service to the University community.

UNC Campus Scholarship for Native American Students is valued at 750 per semester and is awarded to full-time incoming freshmen who are residents of north Carolina with demonstrated financial need and a high school GPA at or above the level required for admission to ECU.  Students must have a tribal affiliation card.  Contact Jeremy Jordan for an interest form.

Grover and Jessie Rodgers Scholarship in Archaeology is valued from 1,00 to 2,250 and is awarded to a full time undergraduate junior, senior, or graduate student admitted to the Department of Anthropology and concentrating in Archaeology.  The scholarship is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may be considered in subsequent years.

Donald F. Clemens Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding chemistry major on the basis of academic merit and future potential as a student of chemistry.

Grover Woodrow Everett Chemistry Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior chemistry major on the basis of academic merit and future potential as a student of chemistry.

Dr. Keith D. Holmes Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior chemistry major who is a US citizen with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and demonstrated leadership potential.

Joseph N. LeConte Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a full-time junior or senior chemistry, pre-medical or pre-dental who is a US citizen with a 3.0 GPA and demonstrated need.

Richard and Nancy Modlin Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding chemistry major and/or a sophomore intended major with the potential as a student of chemistry.  Criteria include a minimum 3.3 GPA overall and in chemistry major.

Burroughs Wellcome Fellowship in Organic Chemistry awards two 11,000 scholarships annually to graduate students in the chemistry MS program who are doing thesis research in an area of organic chemistry.  Selection is made by the chemistry Graduate Committee and organic chemistry faculty.

Robert E. and Margery R. Cramer Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate geography major to be used in a structured academic program abroad. Academic excellence and financial need are considered. Amount varies.

Department of Geography Scholarship is valued at 250 and is awarded to a junior or senior geography major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Hankins Family Scholarship is valued at 300 and is awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a BS degree in Urban and Regional Planning.  Other criteria include completion of 85 semester hours of college course work, a minimum 2.5 GPA, a minimum 3.0 GPA in Planning, and exhibited dedication to the profession of Urban and Regional Planning.

John C. Ralph Scholarship is valued at 300 and is awarded to undergraduate students pursuing a BS degree in Urban and Regional Planning.  Other criteria include completion of 60 semester hours of college course work, a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, a minimum 3.0 GPA in Planning , and exhibited dedication to the profession of Urban and Regional Planning.

C.Q. Brown Scholarship is valued at 500 and is awarded to a senior geology major on the basis of academic merit.

Pignani-Archer Scholarship is awarded to a graduating Mathematics major with the highest grade point average since the last May graduation.

John B. Davis Scholarship is awarded to a student with a background and interest in Statistics.

University Book Exchange Scholarship-Mathematics is awarded to full-time undergraduates majoring in Mathematics with academic merit.

Gravely Foundation Scholarship-Mathematics is awarded to a students with academic excellence, financial need, or qualities of good citizenship and dedication to their profession.

Mathematics Education Scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a BS degree in Mathematics Education with a minimum 3.0 GPA overall in Mathematics.

Sarah Patterson Lane Award Scholarship is valued at 150 and is awarded to an undergraduate physics major. Candidates must have completed the advanced general physics sequence at ECU as well as at least two semesters of freshment/sophomore laboratory sequences at ECU and be enrolled in a junior/senior level course.  A minimum 3.0 GPA is also required. This scholarship is for one semester.

Outstanding Senior Award Scholarship is valued at 75 and is awarded to a senior physics major that has applied for graduation, has a minimum 3.0 GPA, and has a record of service to the Physics Department.  This scholarship is for one semester.

James Fenly Spear, Jr. Memorial Award is valued at 75 and is awarded on the basis of academic merit to a senior physics major that ha applied for graduation .  This scholarship is for one semester.

Tab Scholarship in Physics is valued at 1,000 per year and is awarded to an incoming freshman accepted for admission to a major in physics.  Other criteria include a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum 3.25  high school GPA in science and mathematics.

Gravely Foundation Scholarship-Political Science is valued at 500 and is awarded to a senior political science major with a minimum 3.3 GPA.

Mitchell-Hunt Scholarship-Political Science is valued at 600 and is awarded to a political science major with a minimum 3.5 GPA. 

Troutman/Carlton Political Science Scholarship is valued at 200 and is awarded to a junior or senior political science major with minimum 3.3 GPA. Three scholarships are awarded annually.

University Book Exchange Scholarship- Political Science is valued at 500 and is awarded to a senior political science major with a minimum 3.3 GPA.  Two scholarships are awarded annually.
