Actions of The Meeting

Meeting began at 2:00pm

Approval of Minutes for February 5, 2004

Dr. Boklage discussed that the faculty senate and Interim Chancellor Shelton approved, without revision, the Committee’s Resolution on Procedures for Annual Lifetime and Five-Year University/Creative Activity Awards.

Update of subcommittees indicated that selection of appropriate finalists were made by all sub-committees.  The University Awards and Robert L. Jones Award for Outstanding Teaching still have to review the videotapes of 12 candidates by mid-April.

Dr. Clayton indicated, via email, that the nominees for the Board of Governors Teaching Awards were submitted to the Board of Governors.

A brief discussion was held on the evaluation criteria used in the University Awards for Outstanding Teaching.  The scale used provides a rough guideline for the subjective task of evaluating candidates.  After the discussion, no motions were made for any changes to the evaluation criteria.

With no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:40pm
