UNIVERSITY COMMITTEES
Academic Committees The Faculty Senate has twenty one standing academic committees that deal with issues ranging from academic policies and faculty welfare to teaching effectiveness. All faculty are encouraged to participate on these committees.
Appellate Committees The Faculty Senate has five standing appellate committees that deal with discharge, imposition of serious sanction,employment status, instructional relationship, implementation of governance procedures, sexual, racial, or ethnic harassment or discrimination or conflict of interest, non-reappointment and non-conferral of permanent tenure.
Dissolved Academic Committees In Spring 2001, the Faculty Senate chose to dissolve several academic committees and combine their various tasks with other standing committees of the Senate. Information about these dissolved committees is included here for reference.
In Spring 2011, the Faculty Senate chose to combine two academic committees (Continuing and Career Education and Faculty Information Technology Review Committees) updating the committee name and charge (Distance Education and Learning Technology Committee). In addition, an academic committee was reinstated (Writing Across the Curriculum) and several Committee charges were revised, including revising the name of the Academic Standards Committee to Foundations Curriculum and Instructional Effectiveness.
