Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee Meeting of 1-10-02
Brewster B 104, 2:00 p.m.
Attending: D. Batie, T. Huener, D. Knickerbocker, G. Lapicki, B. Markowski, R. Mitchelson, R. Reaves, E. Smith
Excused: S. Estes, T. Huener
I. The Chair called the meeting to order. Apologies were given for S. Estes and T. Huener.
II. G. Lapicki moved approval of the minutes and catalogue copy of the 11-8-01 meeting, Batie seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
III. Professors Dan Sprau and Doug Kruger presented proposed changes to the EHST curriculum, including the new course EHST 2111. It was noted that a decision on whether or not to grant General Education credit for this course is out of the UCC’s purview and should be forwarded to the Academic Standards Committee. D. Batie moved to approve the rest of the proposal, B. Markowski seconded. The motion passed four to two with one abstention.
IV. Professors David Bjorkman, Chia-Yu Li, and Brian Love presented changes to the CHEM curriculum. D. Batie motioned approval, R. Mitchelson seconded. The motion passed with six affirmative votes and one abstention.
V. Professor Michael Felts presented revisions to the Driver and Safety Education Add-On Certification. D. Batie moved approval, B. Markowski seconded. The motion passed unanimously. R. Mitchelson moved the banking of DRED 2220 and 2230, D. Batie seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
