Minutes of the University Curriculum Committee

Meeting of 11 October 2001

2:00, Brewster B-104

In attendance: D. Batie, S. Estes, D. Knickerbocker, G. Lapicki, B. Markowski, E. Smith, R. Taylor

 

Excused: T. Huener

 

I.                    Taylor moved approval of the minutes and catalogue minutes of  27 September 2001, Batie seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

II.                 The Chair announced that the Chair of the Faculty had agreed to the UCC’s proposal to change the deadline for submissions to two weeks prior to each meeting, and that Lori Lee would make the necessary changes to the web site and course proposal. He also announced that the UCC web site and the site maintained by the Faculty Senate for the UCC had been combined into one. He also announced that the UCC has received a new mailbox for submissions only, that it was announced at the Senate meeting of 10-9-01, and that the course proposal form and web site had been upgraded to reflect the change.

III.               Professor Cheryl Dudasek-Wiggs presented new courses WOST 3510 and 3520. The committee also agreed to accept as editorial changes in the title and course description to 3500 to make the three courses consistent. Estes moved to approve, Taylor seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

IV.              Knickerbocker handed the meeting over to Vice Chair Estes and presented revisions to SPAN 4882, GERM 4882, and FREN 4882. Lapicki moved to approve, Taylor seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

V.                 Professor Maurice York presented the addition of POLS 3244 to the list of electives for the N.C. Studies minor. Markowski moved to approve, Estes seconded. The motion passed unanimously.

 

The meeting adjourned at 2:30.

p. 319. Revise GERM 4882 and add GERM 4883 and GERM 4884 as follows:

4882, 4883, 4884. Internship for Professions (1, 1, 1) (F) (S) (SS) P: Consent of department chair. Supervised internship during the junior or senior year of the German degree program in an appropriate professional setting. Fields may include but are not limited to business and industry.
