University Curriculum Committee

 

The University Curriculum Committee met on Thursday,

October 23, 1997 at 1:30 p.m. in Brewster B-104.

 

The minutes and catalog copy of September 25 were

corrected; 1) paragraph of courses to be banked, Geog

3420 should have been 3402. Acct 3901, 4901, 4931 should

have been deleted. 2) CSDI 4020 title should be

Introduction to Language Disorders (3). Ayres motioned to

approve as amended. Motion passed.

 

Revisions for the B.S. in Communications was withdrawn

until the November meeting

 

Wolfe (Anth) presented proposal for new Anth 2200 course.

Motion to approve was by  Wolfe. Knickerbocker seconded.

The motion passed.

 

Ivan Wallace (BVTE) presented the revised BVTE

undergraduate curriculum/program changes. Huener

motioned for approval. Graziani seconded. The motion

passed.             

 

Jones moved for the deletion of BVTE 5300; and banking of

MGMT 4992; ELEM 4301, 4305, 4340, 5251, 5350, 5351,

5352, 5353, 5354, 5355, 5356, 5357 & 5367; HEED 4310,

5006; ITED 4190, 4192; TECH 1001, 1002, 1003, 4100.

Huener seconded. The motion passed.

 

Jones initiated the discussion on two topics of interest; 1) the

issue of credit limits for a minor, as stated on page 54 in the

catalog. 2) the issue of establishing a consistent statement

regarding repeatable classes. McCarty also presented a

concern over the moratorium on new cognates. All three

topics were scheduled for subsequent meeting.

 

Meeting adjourned at 2:15 p.m.
