The University Curriculum Committee met on Thursday,
13 February 1997 at 1:30 p.m. in Brewster B-104.
The minutes of 23 January were approved as amended.
Missing from the catalog copy were the entries from
Anthropology; HIST 1051 should not have been omitted
from the history major.
Linda Wolfe (Anthropology) presented the request to revise
the BA in Anthropology and answered concerns voiced at
the last meeting. Cox moved to accept as amended;
Mohammed seconded. The motion passed.
John Whitehead (Economics) presented a request to revise
the Coastal and Marine Studies Minor; add COAS 2025 and
4025; bank COAS 2125, 2150, 5000, 5025, 5026.
Neal moved to accept as amended; Powers seconded. The
motion passed.
Linner Griffin (Social Work) and Carol Cox (Nursing)
presented a request to revise GERO 5011, SOCW 5011 and
approve NURS 5011 and double list. Cox moved to accept;
Mohammed seconded. The motion passed.
Michael Rastatter and Meta Downes (Communication
Sciences and Disorders) presented a request to revise the
B.S. in speach and Hearing Sciences; eliminate EDUC 3200
as a requirement; cognate SPED 2000 and increase
cognates to 11 s.h.; delete CSDI 3025; revise and change
course title of CSDI 3030 and 3105; revise and change
course number of CSDI 3110; add new courses CSDI 4000
and 4020; change title of CSDI 3020; increase major to 36
s.h.; change title of minor; alter description of internship;
change prerequisites of CSDI 4110 and 4335.
Grossnickle moved to accept as amended contingent upon
the chair receiving a response from the School of Human
Environmental Sciences regarding the elimination of CSDI
3025; Powers seconded. The motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 2:45 p.m.
