The University Curriculum Committee met on Thursday,
Feb. 12, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. in Brewster B-104.
The minutes and catalog copy of Nov. 13 were corrected;
passed.
Wang (Geography) presented curriculum and catalog
revisions: 1) replace GEOG 3500 with either GEOG 4400,
4500, 4600, 5400, or 5600. 2) 6 s.h. from GEOG 4400,
4500, 4600, 5400, 5600. 3) request for gen. ed. social
science credit for GEOG 2019. Ayers motioned for approval
of item 1 & 2. Mohammed seconded. The motion passed.
Ayers motion for item 3 for approval. Techman seconded.
Motion passed contingent upon G.E. approval.
Jacobs & Southard (English) presented curriculum and
catalog revisions; revise ENGL 4891. New courses ENGL
2900 & 2901. Increase required literature courses by 6 s.h.
Techman motioned for approval. Joyner seconded. The
motion passed
Hutchinsen (Anthropology) Allen (Biology) presented
curriculum and catalog revisions. 10 new course BIOL 1030.
2) Double listing of Anth 2015, 2016 and BIOL 2015, 2016.
Graziani moved item 1 for approval. Joyner seconded.
Motion passed. Joyner motioned to table item 2.
Knickerbocker seconded, motion passed.
Duffy & Hartley (Art) presented curriculum and catalog
revisions. revise BFA concentration in painting.

Swanson (History) presented new courses. History 3121 &
3122 . Bank 3120. Joyner motioned for approval. Jones
seconded. The motion passed
Breker, Buck & Below (Finance) presented new course.
FINA 2904 . Lapicki motioned for approval. Knockerbocker
seconded. The motion passed on contingency.
Motion to unbank COAS 5000. The motion passed.
Items 6, 7, 8, 11 on the agenda were tabled: no show.
Bland initiated a discussion over changing the new course
proposal form.
