The University Curriculum Committee met on Thursday March

14, 1996 at 1:30 P.M. in Brewster B-104.

 

Minutes of the February 22 meeting were approved as amended.

 

Sandra  Triefenbacher and Marge Inman (HES) proposed changes

from  Human  Environmental Sciences including  CDFR:  revise

Child  Studies  requirements, new  catalog  description  B-K

Teacher  Education Program, unbank CDFR 3203; AMID:  cognate

change  to  ENGL 3880 & MKTG 4332, minimum grade requirement

for  Apparel & Textiles majors, new courses AMID 4001, 4002,

4003,  bank AMID 2301, 4209, change major requirement to  44

hours.   Shea  moved approval as amended.  Powers  seconded.

Motion passed.

 

Roger   Biles  and  Michael  Carrafiello   (HIST)  presented

changes  in  History  Honors program  requirements  and  new

course  HIST  3412.   Grossnickle moved  approval.  Graziani

seconded. Motion passed.

 

Maurice  Simon  (POLS) presented a new course proposal  POLS

3040.  Grossnickle moved approval as amended. Shea seconded.

Motion passed.

 

Marcia  Ironsmith (PSYC) presented changes in BA  degree  in

Psychology.   Powers moved approval as amended.  Grossnickle

seconded. Motion passed.

 

Bob  Bernhardt and Janet Pritchard (CSCI) presented  changes

in  BA  &  BS in Computer Science, new courses CSCI  2611  &

4510; change prerequisite CSCI 1610, 2600, 2618, 3427, 3526,

3800,  4627;  change  prerequisite and  catalog  description

CSCI 2510, 2610, 3526;  renumber CSCI 2584 & 2427; bank CSCI

1618   &  4604.   Cox  moved  approval  as  amended.  Powers

seconded. Motion passed.

 

Dale  Knickerbocker (Foreign Language) requested  change  in

prerequisites  for SPAN 2115 & 2116. Powers moved  approval.

Cox seconded. Motion passed.

 

Susan Smith (Allied Health) presented catalog change for  WI

requirement  in  Clinical  Laboratory  Science.  Cox   moved

approval. Mohammed seconded. Motion passed.

 

Mumatz Dinno and Jim Joyce Physics)  requested to unbank and

change prerequisites  PHYS

2350  &  2360. Powers moved approval. Ayers seconded. Motion

passed.

 

New courses in ART tabled to next meeting.

 

Charles  Bland  (Biology)  presented a  new  Honors  program

statement for Biology, change prerequisite BIOL 3100 & 3101;

delete  BIOL  5500/5501,  5801  &  5811;  new  courses  BIOL

5510/5511, 5520/5521 & 5821; reduce hours BIOL 5800  &  5810

to  three; change degree requirements to include BIOL  5811,

eliminate  5801  and 5811 and reduce degree requirements  by

one  hour.  Grossnickle moved approval  as  amended.  Powers

seconded. Motion passed.

 

Linda  Rickard and Tony Parrillo (SHHP) presented change  in

course  title  HLTH 4990 and increase to 12 semester  hours.

Cox  moved approval pending receipt of requested information

by chair. Lapas seconded. Motion passed.
