University Curriculum Committee

11 Sept 2003 Meeting Minutes

Members present:        E. Arnold, C. Estes, T. Hudson, L. Kean, J. Lorenzo, R. Mitchelson, S. O’Donnell, R. Reaves, E. Smith

Members excused:      R. Graziani, Jim, Smith, Jim Toppen

1)          Approved without dissent the minutes of the 10 April 2003 meeting.

2)          T. Hudson was elected chair of the committee for the 2003 – 2004 year.

3)          Provost William Swartz spoke to the committee about the various curricula matters he expects to appear before the committee this year.

4)          R. Graziani was elected as vice-chair of the committee.

5)          The committee postponed the election of a catalog secretary until the next meeting, with Hudson agreeing to contact Ron Graziani in regard to his also serving in this capacity.

6)          The committee suggested that Hudson remind the chairs of the Department of Mathematics (Harriot College of Arts & Sciences) and the Department of Science and Mathematics Education (College of Education) of the committee’s deadline for the transfer of disputed mathematics courses from the Harriot College of Arts & Sciences to the College of Education (see UCC 2002 – 2003 annual report on the faculty senate website at this URL:
