ACTIONS OF MEETING

Agenda Item: Review and proofread AAC Annual Report.

Discussion: A few action items in the report were clarified. A few new action items were raised.

Action Taken: Edits were made to the AAC Annual Report. Committee approved report.

Assigned additional duties to:

Agenda Item: Lifetime Research and Creative Activity Award

Discussion: Dr. Mageean presented a brief update on the history and financing of the Research Awards. Since the Lifetime Award is the most prestigious award given for research she recommends having up to one winner per year.

Action Taken: The committee voted in support of the Vice Chancellor’s recommendation and decided the text for Award Procedures document should be revised to read under the section “Awards Per Year: Up to One Lifetime Award possible.”

Assigned additional duties to: Rebecca will complete the initial paperwork for this change. Carrying this change through the proper channels of the Faculty Senate will be the first order of business for AAC in Fall 2009.

Other Discussion: For committee members driving over from West Campus, parking is a big problem.

Action Taken: Include recommendations as Action Item for next year’s AAC committee.
