Agenda item:
The committee was informed about a memo from Charles Lyons on a formation of a
campus wide committee on International Affairs and the Curriculum. No action required.
Agenda item: The
committee was informed about the contents of a memo from Michelle Sharp of the
English department on upcoming changes in the freshman English sequence. No action
required.
Agenda item: The committee was
informed about Michael Poteat’s request to make a power point presentation on
changing to web-based SOIS. After some discussion the committee decided that it
would provide an opportunity for a short presentation from Michael Poteat on
this issue.
New Business: The committee discussed the
request from Amy Frank of the College of Technology and Computer Science to
waive up to one hour of the Social Sciences requirement for students who
transfer in from a quarter system and end up getting fractional transfer
credit.
Action taken: After some discussion, Bailey
moved that: The GE credit requirements for various components should remain as
they are. The motion passed.
Agenda item: The discussion of the changes to
the GE program continued.
