Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 3:00 P.M.

 

Elections

Elections of officers were held. George Bailey was elected Chair, Jim Decker was elected Vice-Chair, and Lisa Barricella was elected Secretary. Upon completion of the elections, Catherine Rigsby turned the meeting over to George Bailey.

 

New Business

 

RUSS 3230

A motion was made and seconded to grant general education (humanities) credit to Russian 3230, Russian and Soviet Film. Prof. Murenina, from the Dept. of Foreign Languages, was on hand to speak to this proposal. After discussion, the motion passed.

 

Hearings on the Goals of the Liberal Arts Foundations Curriculum

The committee members agreed upon a way to conduct the hearings. Committee membership representation at each hearing was finalized. Ways the committee would collect and solicit feedback were discussed. A suggestion to have a student information session and forum about the goals will be pursued.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:02 P.M.
