The appellate committees provide a
forum for faculty member appeals regarding employment and sexual or racial
harassment. (See following summary of charges.)
These committees are essential to shared governance. It is desirable to have representatives from
a broad spectrum of the academic community.
Please consider carefully the responsibility of service on these
committees. All Appellate committees,
except for the Faculty Grievance Committee, require members to be permanently
tenured faculty without
administrative appointment.
