3.  Lawrence formed the following sub-committees:

4. Toller distributed copies of and briefly discussed a Power Point presentation entitled “Faculty Benefits Survey” prepared for the UNC General Administration.

5.  The Committee briefly discussed New Faculty Orientation and inviting Dr. Dorothy Muller, who leads the orientation program for new faculty, to its October 12 meeting.  Committee members were urged to review the website for New Faculty prior to that meeting.

5.  Lawrence announced that he would be meeting with Michael Lysaght to discuss Faculty Dining privileges at on-campus sites.

6.  The Committee briefly discussed the possibility of a Faculty Club housed in the current home of the Chancellor should he be provided a new residence.

7.  The Committee discussed at length the April 24, 2006 draft of the “Faculty Supplemental Pay Policy.”  Nasea pointed out that many of the issues included in the draft are also covered in Appendix J.  She agreed to prepare a revision of the draft that would incorporate changes discussed by the Committee; the revised draft will be examined at the October 12 meeting of the Committee.

8.  Lawrence announced that the Committee needed to take no action on the issue of parking privileges for retired faculty at this time; should a survey requested in Faculty Senate Resolution #05-23 (approved March 22, 2005) be completed, the Committee will re-consider the issue.  At present, retired and phased retirement faculty may receive a free B1 Zone retired Faculty parking permit or opt to purchase an A1 or A3 Zone permit.
