ACTIONS OF MEETING:

Agenda Item: Late Drop appeals

Discussion: For the tabled appeal the committee has requested the student provide the course syllabus and e-mail communications between the student and instructor. The committee would also like the instructor’s response to the student’s allegations. The committee also strongly encourages the student to discuss his concerns about the instructor with the Department Chair. One of the granted appeals is contingent upon the student providing medical documentation. The committee did not hear one of the late drop appeals feeling that the appeal was not in the committee’s purview, but that it should go to the Academic Integrity Board.

Agenda Item: Retroactive withdrawal

Discussion: On one tabled appeal the committee has requested documentation from Financial Aid. On another tabled appeal the committee has requested documentation of the student’s medical treatment for depression. On the final tabled appeal the committee has asked for medical documentation from the student for January – June 2006.

Action Taken: 4 – granted, 1 - denied, 3 - tabled
