ACTIONS OF MEETING

Agenda Item: Approval of the September 25^th Minutes

Discussion: NA

Action Taken: Motion was made and seconded and Minutes were approved.

Assigned additional duties to: NA

Agenda Item: Review of Section 3 of the Graduate and Undergraduate catalogues regarding Expenses and Financial Assistance.

Discussion: After review of the catalogues it was noted that the links present were all dead links and should be addressed. There are a few minor typos. It was also noted that the Office of National/International Fellowships and Scholarships was actually the Honors Program office and that students answering the phone there may not know of its function as information for National/International Fellowships and Scholarships. Also noted was the paragraph in the Graduate catalogue on page 34 titled UNC Campus Scholarships. It appears that only incoming freshman are eligible for the scholarship, if this is the case we will recommend that it be removed from the Graduate catalogue.

Action Taken: Once all questions concerning the noted sections of the catalogue are answered the committee will make recommendations for catalogue updates.

Assigned additional duties to: Brent Henze will check and see if the UNC Campus Scholarship is available to Graduate students.

Agenda Item: The Student Scholarships, Fellowships, and Financial aid Committee’s continued involvement with the EC Scholars, Scholarship Weekend.

Discussion: The committee agreed that we wanted to continue to be involved in the Scholarship Weekend.

Action Taken: It was decided that we should contact the person in charge of organizing the Scholarship Weekend and inform him/her that the committee in interested in participating again this year.

Assigned additional duties to: Brent Henze will send an e-mail to the person in charge and let her/him know about our desire to be involved with Scholarship Weekend.
