Minutes March 1, 2007

1. Attendance:

2. Call to Order:

2.1 The meeting was called to order by Dr. Garris Conner, March 1, 2007, in the Rawl Building Annex, Room # 142 at 4:00 p.m.

3. The tentative slate of officers nominated at the September 7, 2006 meeting was elected by a unanimous vote of the committee. The officers for 2006-2007 are:

4. Discussion about Appendices C and D and Parts XII and XIII changes and implications for the committee occurred . Units are to complete code revisions related to these changes by August 2007. Full review of some codes just approved may not be necessary.

5. Review of School of Nursing Code – Since Dr. Garris Conner was representing the School of Nursing for the review of its code; Dr. Bill Grossnickle conducted the meeting during this review. The code was approved with editorial changes.

5.1 Table of Contents, under section VI, A. indent second line so it is consistent with the rest of the table.

5.2 Table of Contents, under section VI, B, Five Year needs a hyphen.

5.3 p. 2, lines 104 and 105, the letter d in the work dean should be capitalized.

5.4 p. 3, line 109, the letter d in the work dean should be capitalized.

5.5 p. 3, line 133 needs a period at the end of the sentence.

5.6 p. 5, line 180, insert a comma after tenure and delete the comma after Chair.

5.7 p. 6, line 206, insert the sentence “The Nominating Committee shall count the ballots and report results to the Faculty Council Chair”.

5.8 p. 6, line 232, a colon after Officers.

5.9 p. 7, line 244, insert the sentence “The Nominating Committee shall count the ballots and report results to the Graduate Faculty Organization Chair.

5.10 p. 7, line 253, delete comma after to.

5.11 p. 7, line 268, insert comma after Manual.

5.12 p. 8, line 286, add a period at the end of the sentence.

5.13 p. 8, line 289, add a period at the end of the sentence

5.14 p 8, line 310, period at the end of the sentence should not be italicized.

5.15 p. 10, line 375, insert a comma after department.

5.16 p. 10, line 379, Undergraduate is misspelled.

5.17 p. 11, lines 388, 396, 409, and 411, spacing between brackets and first word in each sentence.

5.18 p. 12, line 416, delete the hyphen after three and add a hyphen after at.
