University Environment Committee

Meeting Minutes October 26, 2006

Regular members present: Bowman, Lawrence, Hodson

Glascoff, McKinnon Absent: Robinson, House

Ex officio members present: Griffin, Pohlman for Koch, Gill, Schmidt, Twark Absent Jones, Core

Guest: Jami Jones

1. The meeting was called to order.

2. Minutes of the Sub committee meeting on September 28 were approved.

3. A motion was made by Professor Glascoff to ratify the election held at the August 24^th meeting where a subcommittee of the whole elected Charles Hodson as chair, Zach Robinson as vice chair, and Hunt McKinnon as secretary. The motion was seconded and there was brief discussion. The motion carried.

Attendance and membership attendance were discussed.

4. A motion was made to move the meeting time to 3:30 on the 4th Thursday of the month.

Moved by Professor Glascoff and Seconded by Professor McKinnon. The motion carried.

5. Hodson will contact members who have been absent to see if they are able to serve. He will contact the Chair of the Faculty.

The agenda for the next meeting was discussed.

Mr. Gill will present information on the Green Space Plan and Landscape Activities for the East Campus to the committee at the January meeting.

Dr. Hodson has contacted George Harrell’s office to review the status of the campus master plan with the committee. They are agreeable but do not have a current plan. They would present next year as information is developed.

Hodson will contact planners about buildings and their history. This information might be of value for planning and conservation efforts and for the upcoming Centennial.

The committee adjourned.

The next meeting will be held on January 25, 2006 at 3:30 pm in Rawl Annex
