University Environment Committee

Meeting Minutes August 24, 2006

Regular members present: McKinnon, Bowman, Lawrence, Hodson

Absent: Robinson, Glascoff, House, Jill Twark

Ex officio members present: Griffin, Pohlman for Koch, Gill, Schmidt, Mize Absent Cole Jones

Guest: Jami Jones Mark Taggart

Members were introduced.

Dr Taggart Chair of the faculty opened the meeting and conducted the election of the new Chair.

Hodson was elected Chair, and assumed the role of committee chair.

Zach Robinson was elected Vice Chair and Hunt McKinnon was elected Secretary.

It was realized that the committee did not have a quorum of regular members (5) present, so the election was provision and was tabled for the next meeting.

The committee discussed potential agenda items including a review the campus master plans for East and West Campus, Green Space and special landscape features, smoking, energy conservation concerns and, water conservation concerns.

The meeting was adjourned with a plan to officially elect officers at the next meeting.

The committee adjourned. The next meeting will be held on September 28 at 4:00 pm in Rawl Annex
