Meeting Minutes 9/24/09

Meeting
began at 3:30 with introductions of committee members. Faculty Senate, Faculty
Manual, and Charge of the Committee were discussed.
2.
First
order of business for 09-10 was to elect Committee officers. Committee Officers
were unanimously elected as follows:
Chair: Jill
Twark (through Fall 09)
Vice Chair:
Tim Kelley
Secretary:
Amy Gross McMillan
3.
Accomplishments
from last year were outlined.
4.
Additional
issues/business:
John Gill
volunteered to discuss with Bill Bagnell the possibility of having
representative of Architectural Committee (of Master Planning Committee) and/or Smith Group
to come to future meeting to present.
A student
representative of the SGA was not present at meeting- Jill will follow up with
SGA Chief of Staff to ascertain who representative will be and to encourage
future attendance.
Aramark’s
sustainability efforts were discussed- Jill will contact Aramark
to have see if representative can attend future
meeting of committee to present/discuss efforts.
New efforts
were discussed – John Gill discussed use of recycling bags now at Football
games for patrons as well as cisterns planned for new Croatan
building and at new
Tim Kelley
suggested inviting Eco-Pirate president Ali to future UEC meeting- Jill or Tim
will initiate.
Hunt
McKinnon suggested inviting sustainability coordinators of other UNC-system
schools to future meeting.
