COMMITTEE: Writing Across the Curriculum MEETING DATE: October 12, 1995 PERSON PRESIDING: Chris Ulffers ACTIONS OF MEETING Description of action: DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Rita reported that the University administration has no problem with the wording change describing the WAC requirements requested last year and that it will be included in the new catalog as an editorial change. Completion date/ Follow-up action required: None Description of action: The Committee discussed POLS 4000 and voted to leave the WI designation on the course transcripts of five students who took the course last year since it was listed as such in the course listings. Completion date/ Follow-up action required: Rita addressed the problem of assuring that only courses approved by the WAC Committee are listed as WI by the registrar's office. In the future, she will hand check computer lists for accuracy. Description of action: The Committee approved the following courses as WI intensive: CMGT 4600; EXSS 3906; JUST 3010; JUST 3501; NURS 4320; PSYC 4400; PSYC 4602; SPAN 2115; PADP 3300. Completion/ Follow-up action required: PADP 3000 and 3400 will be returned for editing and clarification before being approved. Descriptions of action: The Committee discussed the request from the Honors Program Committee that all Honors Seminars be approved as writing intensive. Completion date/ Follow-up action required: Dr. David Sanders, Director of the Honors Program, will be invited to attend the November meeting to discuss this issue further.
