Description of action:
Item:  Approval of August 26, 1999 minutes.  The motion 
carried and the minutes were approved.

Description of action:
Item:  Writing Across the Curriculum Director's Report
R. Reaves discussed and reviewed printout of faculty 
teaching WI courses. Presently, 534 sections of WIC being 
taught.  The courses developed are prepared using the 
course proposals in Writing Across Curriculum handbook.  
We have five models for course development for faculty and 
committee critique.

Item:  English Department Blanket Approval of English 
Courses
F. Farmer discussed at present the English department has 
WI status for all courses in their department.  All courses do 
not meet guidelines.  English undergraduate program will 
review English courses and bring those courses meeting WI 
requirements back to WAC.

Description of Action:
Item:  WAC Workshop Sponsored by English Department
F. Farmer shared with committee that English department 
will be cosponsoring WAC workshop with the subsequent 
development of a service learning model.  He will share 
information with committee members prior to the next 
meeting.

Description of Action:
Item:  Discussion of FREN 3231 "France of the Middle Ages 
and Renaissance" for WI designation.  Committee requested 
increased information form faculty regarding course. R. 
Reaves to review WAC foreign language course and share 
with french faculty and committee members.  

Description of Action:
Item:  Discussion of FREN 3330 "French Composition and 
Advanced Grammar" for WI designation.  Motion carried to 
designate course as WI with query regarding research term 
paper length.

Description of Action:
Item:  Discussion of MKTG 4972 "Electronic Commerce" for 
WI course.  Committee expressed support for innovative 
design.  Requested more documentation specific to meeting 
page requirement guidelines.

Description of Action:
Item:  Discussion of HIST 3005 "The Vietnam War in Film".  
The committee requested more information on some 
questions and the inclusion of a signature page with the 
proposal form.
