Description of action:
Motion was made for approval of minutes from February 
25'h, 1999 meeting.  Motion carried

Item: Discussion of ACCT 4611 request for WI approval.
The motion was made to approve ACCT 4611 as WI.

Description of action:
Rita Reaves presented the Director's Report
A list of faculty teaching WI courses was distributed
Rita would like to do more to develop a community of Wl 
instructors to provide support.  Lynn Eudey will draft a letter 
of appreciation to WI instructors.  Rita will ask Dr. Ringeisen 
to write as well.  Rita shared copies of the journal Language 
and Learning Across the Disciplines.

Description of action:
Item: Review and program assessment
Find out what people who are teaching WI need - conduct a 
needs assessment. Chris suggested peer circle review - 
discuss what problems are.

Identified one problem area as smooth transitions from one 
sentence to the next.  Writing Center should be better 
publicized. Discussion of different types of peer review.
Writing teams and helping circles were discussed. Have a 
"Writing Day" and the end of the semester instead of a 
"Reading Day"   

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 22, 1999 at 
3P.M.
