The recommendation is to discontinue the program while assuring graduation for any currently enrolled students.
Rationale: There have been no graduates from this program in the past three years. The lack of interest in the program can be attributed to the fact that there is a current trend for prospective marketing teachers to seek lateral entry licensure routes or take advantage of the department’s combined degree that provides both business education and marketing education licensure in the undergraduate program. This has no impact on faculty as they are involved in teaching content courses for other programs in the department and any courses specific to teacher education in the department are comprised of students from other related teacher-education courses. Consequently, no faculty members are displaced in the decision to discontinue the program.
