4. Unit submits NIP to Academic Council and Educational Policies and Planning Committee | |
5. Unit collaborates with Office of Academic Programs to prepare final copy of NIP for Chancellor consideration. Following Chancellor approval and at least 6 months prior to proposed establishment date, Office of Academic Programs electronically files the NIP with UNC-OP | |

h. Faculty Senate (per approval of UCC report to Faculty Senate) | |

Step III: Request for Authorization to Establish A New Degree Program (RAE) Allow a minimum of 6 months for campus process and 6 months for UNC-OP process. (Degree requirements/courses must be approved prior to submission of RAE to UNC-OP. The RAE is submitted within 1 year of filing the NIP at UNC-OP, or an extension must be requested.) | Date of Approval |
1. Unit prepares RAE (App. C or App. D if same CIP as existing program) | |
