The organizational meeting for the 2005-2006
Faculty Senate was held on Tuesday,
April 26, 2005, in the Mendenhall
Student Center.
Agenda Item I. Call
to Order
Catherine Rigsby (Geology), Chair of the Faculty, called the
meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.
Agenda Item II. Roll Call
Senators absent were: Professors Deena
(English), Dobbs (Medicine), Pofahl (Medicine), Willson (Medicine), Yalcin
(Philosopy), Allred (Psychology), Faculty Assembly Delegate Killingsworth,
Administrative Council Representative Varner,
Past Chair of the Faculty Niswander, Vice Chancellors Gilbert, Lewis,
and Smith, and Chancellor Ballard.

Announcements
A preliminary call for nominations for the Board
of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching, Board of Governors Distinguished Professor for Teaching Award, Alumni
Award for Outstanding Teaching, and University Award for Outstanding
Teaching will be distributed soon to all academic unit heads. Copies of the different award nominating
procedures are available in the Center for Faculty Development (124 Ragsdale)
and online at:
http://www.ecu.edu/fsonline/AcademicCommittees/aa/academicawards.htm. The nomination materials will be due in
September 2005, with the award winners recognized in Spring 2006.

A. Nominating Committee for Faculty
