Meet Our Grad Student

Ellen Crowell

ECrowell Picture

A Salisbury, North Carolina native and the youngest of three girls, Ellen Crowell began her ECU graduate studies in the fall of 2008.  Having graduated from North Carolina State University in the spring of 2008 with a double major in communication disorders and sociology, Crowell decided to attend ECU for the dual AuD and PhD program within the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.  Already actively involved in research at her new school, Crowell has submitted for research funding from the Educational Audiology Association Noel D. Matkin Award, American Academy of Audiology Summer Research Fellowship and has submitted two abstracts for poster consideration at the 2009 ECU Research and Creative Achievement Week.  The areas where she would like to research are within pediatric hearing assessments, tele-audiology, and educational audiology.  Upon receiving both degrees, Crowell would like to work in the field as a clinician and a clinically focused research audiologist.
