Our People. With a faculty that has grown by over 500 full-time professors in the past six years, ECU is attracting a wide variety of scholars to work in our 10 colleges and schools. Our Programs. ECU offers 75 master's degree programs and 48 graduate certificate programs through our 10 colleges and schools. In addition, we offer 18 doctoral programs and two first professional degrees, and hold the distinction of being classified among the Doctoral/Research Universities by the Carnegie Foundation. An increasing array of interdisciplinary activities are broadening and deepening our intellectual scope. In addition, ECU is the largest producer of teachers and certain allied health professionals in North Carolina. Our Discovery*. Growing at a rate exceeding 15 percent compounded annually, the research enterprise at ECU is reaching new heights. Our Faculties earned more than $40 million in research awards in 2006, and ECU is ranked third nationally in patents obtained. Many programs have state-of-art new buildings and facilities.
