Welcome to the Online Graduate Catalogs
The online graduate catalog is for informational purposes only, and does not constitute a contractual agreement between a student and East Carolina University. The university reserves the right to make changes in curricula, degree requirements, course offerings, or academic regulations at any time when, in the judgment of the graduate faculty, the Chancellor, or the Board of Trustees, such changes are in the best interest of the students and the university.
East Carolina University is committed to equality of educational opportunity and does not discriminate against applicants, students, or employees based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, creed, sexual orientation, or disability. East Carolina University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that accommodates the needs of individuals with disabilities.
Which Catalog Version Should You Use?
The HTML version is an updated catalog that indicates curricular revisions soon after approval by the Graduate School Administrative Board. It is a dynamic document that informs faculty, staff, and students of recent revisions to the catalog that go into effect the following semester. Revisions are indicated in green text.
The PDF version of the catalog, which also can be accessed from the above Web page, does not change during the year to reflect curricular and personnel changes.
Which Catalog Year Should You Use?
A degree-seeking graduate student enters East Carolina University under the catalog in effect at the time of official enrollment. Students can choose to graduate under a catalog published after the student is originally enrolled. Graduate students have a period of six years in which to graduate under a specific catalog year.
For all matters regarding an earlier academic year, refer to the appropriate archived catalog. In
of each year, the graduate catalog for an academic year is “frozen” to establish the guidelines and regulations under which each incoming class will matriculate.
