The University Honors Passport Program
The Honors Program is pleased to introduce the Honors Program Passport to our incoming Freshmen Honors Students. Incoming Freshmen who join the Honors Program upon acceptance at ECU will embark on a new journey with the Honors Program. As part of their first year Honors Program experience, these students will attend a broad variety of educational events in several categories such as Diversity, Cultural and Fine Arts, Academic, Leadership and Service Learning and Community Involvement. These exciting events are open to ALL Honors Students , whether filling the Passport or not.
To encourage students to take advantage of all ECU has to offer and to seek out diverse educational experiences on their own, each incoming Freshman is issued a Passport. These passports will help students identify and track their participation in the events. Students take them to the events listed on their passports or to other events sponsored by ECU or the community that have been pre-approved by the Honors Program. At each event students receive proof of attendance and Honors students are required to attend at least 8 co-curricular events and EC Scholars must attend at least 12 in a semester. Events are tracked on the Passport Insert and Inserts are turned in by the last day of class each semester. Events vary from topic to topic. Additional events are advertised every week, usually through email to the Honors Students email distribution list.
