An invitation to the ECU Honors Program is an honor in itself. Students who take honors classes have the opportunity to interact with other honor students. Classes are kept small (15-20) and are taught by some of the most exciting instructors on campus.
Honors Students, EC Scholars and International Students are required to live in Umstead Residence Hall, a special living learning community.
Students have the opportunity to and are strongly encouraged to participate in Study Abroad programs while in school.
Students may travel to state and national honor conventions and present papers or make presentations.
Students may apply for Undergraduate Research Assistantships.
Students are assisted in applying for graduate fellowships and for the Fulbright, Marshall, Rhodes and various other scholarships.
Honors students have the privilege of early preregistration with the assistance of the honors academic advisors.
Students have the opportunity to use a special study room in Joyner Library.
Graduation from the Honors Program offers recognition for your academic excellence and could open doors to graduate or professional schools and exceptional career opportunities.
