BBRI holds a special Undergrad Research Opportunity Core (UROC) Program every summer, or a year long UROC internship. The mission of BBRI is to provide research experience to undergraduates interested in pursuing a career in scientific research.

Cannon Summer Scholars

The Cannon Summer Scholars Program of CHS is a program of instruction in research for selected medical students and graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in accredited colleges and universities. Summer scholars work closely with mentors who are performing original research in the clinics or laboratories of CHS.

Behavioral Research Advancements in Neuroscience

Students are selected to participate in one of two groups, either with a group on an assigned project or with a group that gets to design their own research project.

All participants in the summer program get s $3000 stipend as well as room and board and transportation cost to Atlanta, GA.

Summer Biomedical Research Program

The SBRP provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to engage in basic science research at the Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) and Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Faculty conducting research in the areas of Anatomy & Cell Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Microbiology & Immunology, Pathology, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Physiology, Health Disparities and Clinical Research will prepare students to address scientific questions using cutting-edge experimental approaches.
