The Honors College wait list application process is open to any prospective fall 2017 undergraduate student who has been accepted to East Carolina University prior to March 1, 2017. Strongest consideration will be directed to those students who meet Honors College minimum eligibility criteria (see Application Process). Students who submit a completed application to the Honors College and who are initially denied admission are automatically added to the Honors College wait list.
The Honors College wait list is consulted to fill the Honors College entering class if the incoming cohort falls below the Honors College enrollment goal. The Honors College wait list is not connected with the EC Scholars or Early Assurance Programs selection processes. These are not open to students who are admitted through the wait list process.
The application carries a postmarked deadline date of March 15, 2017 for both the online application and the required peer letter of recommendation. The Honors College will acknowledge receipt of completed wait list applications through the online application system. This will occur at such time that the Honors College is in receipt of a completed online waitlist application and the required peer letter of recommendation. Following this electronic confirmation, the Honors College will only communicate with students on the wait list in the event of an updated admissions status with the Honors College. These decisions will be made on a rolling basis to begin as early as April 19 and to conclude no later than August 1, 2017.
