The Polaris Society was launched on May 31st, 2013 and is a donor recognition society for all contributors to the Honors College and its programs. Images from the gala event are available through the Honors College Flickr site. The Polaris Society derived its name from the North Star on the university seal. The North Star, also known as the Guide Star or Polaris, has over the centuries guided the way for voyagers, just as friends of the Honors College and donors guide the way of the College toward a successful future.
A wall was launched in the Mamie Jenkins building to honor all the members of the new Polaris Society. Members names are included once they donate $10,000 or more to the Honors College or its programs.
